About

I'm Randy Toma, a landscape, astrophotography, and wildlife photographer based in California, chasing light across the American West and beyond. My work spans the granite peaks of the Eastern Sierra, the misty rainforests of the Pacific Northwest, the geothermal wonders of Yellowstone, and the biodiversity of Costa Rica's cloud forests — with detours through the deserts of Utah and Arizona, the coastlines of Florida and Mexico, and the volcanic landscapes of Hawaii along the way.

I'm a Nikon Creator shooting primarily on the Nikon Z9, with a particular love for Milky Way photography, long-exposure waterfalls, and the quiet, patient work of wildlife and bird photography. My background in security camera systems gave me an early technical foundation in optics and imaging — but it's the pursuit of a perfect sunrise, a clear night sky, or a fleeting animal encounter that keeps me behind the lens.
